roject included design report for 5 mile long multi-use path including topographic survey and base-mapping, preliminary plan drawings, meetings with local community organization, pre paring displays for and attending a public information meeting, evaluating bridge structure alternatives, cost estimates, pavement structure design and pavement marking plans with signing.
Project also included charette process in order to obtain input from the community group. Various issues resolved during the public involvement phase include pavement type, alignment location and path lighting.

LIRR Deer Park Station Expansion

This project consisted of the new construction of a 300 stall parking lot for the LIRR in Deer Park. The parking area was an undeveloped lot which required detailed field survey and base-mapping. Conceptual level plans for the parking stalls and adjacent recharge basin were then developed and discussed with the client. The conceptual plans showed different locations for the proposed parking and recharge basin while considering items such as access to the existing parking field, presence of utilities and cost. Detailed design plans included partial roadway realignment, pavement striping plans and proposed lighting plans. Also, detailed specifications and cost estimates were provided.

Also provided an inspector during the construction of the parking lot.

CR 16 Smithtown Blvd. from Gibbs Pond Road to NYS Route 25

Engineering Services consisted of a Highway Corridor Study for 2 1⁄2 miles of County Road 16.

Work included evaluating land use, traffic counts, forecasting, developing flow diagrams, conducting intersection capacity analysis, accident analysis, documenting the existing highway section and features with special attention being paid to non-standard features, assessing drainage conditions, identifying all utilities, developing alternatives on scaled aerial photographs, identifying environmental issues, obtaining preliminary property information, providing engineering cost estimate and producing a final Highway Corridor Study Report (HCSR) with recommended alternatives.

Broadway Avenue Reconstruction

As the Prime Consultant, provided civil engineering services for this project consisting of providing additional through capacity for Broadway Avenue from NY 27 (Sunrise Highway) to NY 454 (Veterans Memorial Highway). Subsequent to performing site observations and conducting interviews with local residents it was determined that additional through capacity was needed. The other alternative considered was to modify the green time allocation at the intersection of Broadway Avenue with NY 454 in order to give more green time to Broadway Avenue. This alternative was not considered reasonable since it would adversely affect NY 454 which is the primary roadway at the intersection. These findings were summarized in a Design Report.

Then detailed design plans were developed which incorporated widening on the west side of Broadway Avenue. The proposed plans included the design of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Church Street and Broadway and the modification of the traffic signal at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and NY 454. Acquisition maps were developed for the widening areas. The proposed plans were submitted to NYSDOT for review and their comments were incorporated into the project. Also included in this project was the development of specifications, cost estimate and specific construction details.
