There was a time when Kings Park had a bustling main street. It had built-in customers among the hundreds of workers at the nearby Kings Park Psychiatric Center. Unfortunately, when the facility closed in 1996, the downtown declined, leaving vacant mom and pop shops giving way to big box stores. But, in recent years, the opening of destination restaurants, a farmers market and summer concert series have generated more traffic. Because of this recent development, Town Officials believed that revitalization was the next step.
Revitalization would bring a walkable, viable, transit-oriented downtown to Kings Park, as well as provide some housing opportunities for our young workforce and empty-nesters who want to move into a smaller place and still stay in town. Responsible for master planning, landscape architecture, land surveying, construction documents, specifications and construction oversight.
