In order to perform interconnection from the offshore wind turbines to the existing power grid, Sunrise Wind will construct ~20 miles of transmission duct bank from the Transition Joint Bay (TJB) located on Fire Island NY to the Holbrook Station located in Holtville Long Island, NY. Duct Bank route travels North from Fire Island, NY adjacent to William Floyd Pkwy, West Along route 27, NW through Brookhaven, and West along Route 495 the Long Island Expressway to the Interconnecting Holbrook Substation in Holtsville, NY. The Scope of Work consists of the following major components: 18 Miles of Underground Ductbank for a 320kv DC line; (2) 1 Mile Underground parallel Ductbanks for a 138kV double circuit AC line; 6 Trenchless Crossings across both DC and AC Routes; Transition Joint Bay Installation (connecting offshore and onshore DC cable); 34 Splice Vaults along the DC Route and 8 on the AC Route; Material delivery and logistics; Soil disposal and transportation;  Restoration (both roadway and private/public property).
